Specialised civil engineering caters to excessive weights.

A massive workshop to meet the needs of large-scale heavy machinery.

Designed to house the gigantic mining trucks, dozers, super high lift wheel loaders, graders and excavators while maintenance work is carried out, Wilpinjong Coal have a workshop that is tailored to machinery.

Wilpinjong Coal is one of three mine sites in New South Wales and five in Queensland owned by Peabody Energy. There was a need to construct a large new heavy vehicle workshop which was needing to house CAT489D mining trucks, CAT D9, D10 and D11 dozers, CAT 994 super high lift wheel loaders, CAT 16m and 24m graders and Liebherr R9400 excavators.

Williams River Steel worked closely with the mine’s management Theiss Pty Ltd to complete construction of the 50 m x 30m building which consists of a workshop and stores area. The workshop exceeds 20m in height and has an overhead 25tonne crane traveling across all three bays.

Under the close watch of the safety officials the Williams River Steel build was incident free and complied with the stringent safety requirements of the mine. Upon the completion of the project Peabody Energy commended the entire team on the incident free build, which was a credit to Williams River Steel’s high safety standards from start to finish.
