Williams River Steel designed and constructed the 32m x 11m wide x 15m high heavy vehicle workshop to withstand the elements and provide an accessible worksite for the Hunter Valley mine.

The hot dipped galvanised frame and open web truss workshop has a 32m clear span that provides strength and clearance for the vehicles.

Skylights allow sunlight to flood the workshop during the day and high-bay lighting fills the large workshop up during the night for the 24 hour mine.

An open sided heavy vehicle workshop still stands the test of time for Ashton Coal with a steady stream of vehicles housed for maintenance since it was originally designed and constructed.
