The Hunter Pilot Bio Refinery was a unique project designed to house a state-of-the-art Pilot Biorefinery plant which produces Ethanol from bio matter such as Hay bales.
Our unique structural detailing software and experience allowed us to utilise the Buildup Information Model (BIM) for the building, providing accurate footing locations at the early civil and pavement works stage, accelerating the build and allowing locally sourced civil contractors to carry out early works in advance prior to the steel being fabricated.
The external cladding of the building was carefully laid out using multiple colours and materials creating a barcode that can be physically scanned to reveal the Ethanol UN code of 1170.
Local University students will take advantage of the plant with workshops planned for students to get involved in the process with hands on learning and research; a unique and invaluable opportunity to broaden educational development.
